Record of Covid-19 Vaccination
As directed by the Ministry of Health all schools who enrol students over the age of 12 years are to maintain an up-to-date register with the COVID-19 vaccination status of these (eligible) students, beginning Monday 1 November.
Students are required to upload a screen shot of your My Health COVID vaccine status.

Junior Whānau Hui Cancellation
Due to ongoing Covid related restrictions, we are unable to host whānau onsite for the Junior Whānau Hui on November 18th as planned.
Junior reports are due out on Monday, please feel free to contact individual subject teachers via email if you would like more information. If you are unsure of whom to contact, please contact Mr Pera at pe@hastingsgirls.com
End of year dates for Juniors
Thursday 18 November
Junior Prizegiving will be held in the morning, however, due to Level 2 restrictions this will be held outside and attended by students and staff only. We will livestream the Prizegiving for whānau. After Prizegiving Junior students will go home.
Friday 19th November
Shemozzle event for the whole school
Monday 22 November to Friday 3 December
Junior students will be involved in a learning project of their choice in which they will be set challenges, work with other students to an outcome and develop critical thinking and expression. More information on this will be in next week's Pānui along with the choices on offer to students.
Return of School Laptops - JUNIORS
Any junior students who have been issued a school laptop need to note that these are due to be returned via the library on Wednesday 17 November during Block 3.
Student Leader announcement assembly
On Monday 8 November the Student Leaders will be announced at a whole school assembly. This will be held outside Te Waiwaia at 2.45pm.
All students are to be seated for this presentation. Deputy Head Girl Kristyn will also be giving her final speech.
Senior Study Leave
Letters have been sent home today, to a number of Senior students, that are eligible for study leave. Friday 12 November will be the final day of regular school for these students. With one week remaining in our regular timetable, students still have time to achieve the number of credits required to be granted study leave from this date. Students will be working closely with their Ākina Coaches next week on their individual learning goals.
From Monday 15 November targeted catch up workshops, tutorials, study spaces and mentoring will replace our regular timetable. Students will need to check our website each day, in order to make the most of the time remaining.
Change of date for the Senior Prizegiving
Due the new exam timetable we have moved our Senior Prizegiving to the morning of Friday 10 December. This event will be students and staff only and live streamed on our Facebook page for our whānua.
Year 13 Leavers
We have finalised our Year 13 Leavers event. After gathering student voice we have decided to have a farewell afternoon tea and presentation following our senior prizegiving on Friday 10 December. This will take place outside Te Rourou. As we are at Level 2 restrictions whānau will be unable to attend.
Sports on offer at HGHS in 2022

Gisborne Sports Exchange Cancelled
Due to the impact of Covid and the uncertainty that it brings, the annual Sports Exchange between Hastings Girls' High School and Gisborne Girls' High School, scheduled for 17th November 2021, has now been cancelled.
We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Apollo Projects for their support and generosity in helping provide sporting opportunities such as this for HGHS.
