Wednesday the 14th of August was international youth day, and to celebrate this day a group of our students ranging from Year 9 to Year 13 (including some of our international student) headed down to Gracelands Rest Home and Village to have a shared lunch with some of the residence, and took time to share their stories with each other of where they were from. They finished the afternoon with lemonade and a game of balloon volleyball. The residents and students had a fantastic time together, and we were even able to capture this photo of Betty Graham and Christina Gray who are proud to be old girls of Hastings Girls' High School! Betty even had her photo album with her old school class photos. It is really nice to take time to make connections with our community. It was a special time and we look forward to doing more activities with Gracelands in the future.
