A goal of mine has always been to give back to the community.
I was given the opportunity to go to a course at Outward Bound. Outward bound taught me the importance the youth has to the community. We can give so much back just by making a bit of an effort.
It made me realise that the youth should take responsibility and start to take care of our environment. This encouraged me to be apart of the Hawke's Bay Youth Environment Council. As a member, my goal is to bring awareness about the sustainability of our environment to the community and the our school. To increase the awareness of the environment and sustainability issues at Hastings Girls’ High School, a group of girls have come together to create an environmental council within the school.
We have many goals this year that we would like to achieve towards increasing our environmental awareness.
