It has been an exciting start to the school year in the library. We are now open from 8.00am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, with visitor numbers around 300 girls per day! A small army of 40 student volunteers are now in training to help in the library, which is great timing, as we have many new titles arriving almost every day, especially for our Maori, Pasifika and Magazine Collections. The girls enjoyed posting to our Wonderwall of Wonderwomen in celebration of International Women’s Day on 8 March.
We now have more board games on offer to use at lunchtime and interval, as well as other fun activities, such as the Yr 9 and 10 library orientation scavenger hunt. All those who participated and went in to the draw to win a prize. This was won by Palavi Naiker, as seen in the photo. And finally, we are in the throes of changing to a new Library management system which will make searching for information and something to read much easier.
