Term Four Week 2
Message from the Principal
It has been an exciting and rewarding week here at Hastings Girls' as we celebrated the achievements and leadership of our students. On Wednesday, our students were awarded their Gold Ākina badges, recognising their dedication, service, and engagement throughout the year. This prestigious award is a reflection of the hard work and commitment our students have shown in living out our school values.
We also announced our 2025 Student Leaders. It was a challenging process, given the incredible depth of leadership within our school but we are confident that those chosen will continue to inspire and lead with integrity. We are incredibly proud of all the candidates who put themselves forward and we look forward to seeing the positive impact our new leaders will make in the year ahead.
This week also saw the celebration of our Sports and Performing Arts Prizegiving, where we acknowledged the outstanding achievements of our athletes and performers. It was a wonderful evening, filled with pride and celebration, as we recognised the hard work, talent, and dedication of our students in these areas.
Looking ahead to next week, we have two key events. On Thursday morning, we will hold our Leavers' Breakfast for our Year 13 students. This is a special occasion, hosted by our pastoral team, to reflect on the journey our senior students have been on and to wish them well as they prepare to step into the next chapter of their lives.
On Wednesday, we will come together once again for our Senior Academic Prizegiving, where we will celebrate the academic success of our students and recognise their achievements across a range of subjects. This is always a highlight of the year and we look forward to celebrating the hard work and determination of our ākonga.
Next week also marks the last week of senior classes, with examinations rapidly approaching. This is a critical time for our senior students to prepare and finalise their studies. We encourage all our students to stay focused and make the most of these final days of learning, seeking support from their teachers where needed. As always, we are here to support them every step of the way as they aim to achieve their best in the upcoming assessments.
Finally, with Hawke's Bay Anniversary Weekend, we encourage everyone to take the time to enjoy the break, spend time with whānau, and recharge before the busy weeks ahead.
