Term Two Week 6
HGHS & HBHS Leaders Breakfast
Thank you Hastings Boys' High School for hosting our annual Leaders Breakfast. It was great to catch up again, breakfast was delicious and we look forward to reconnecting later in the year for our annual Netball match.
Pūhoro
Last week some of our Year 11, 12 and 13 students went to their wānanga with the Pūhoro team at the Racecourse.
The Pūhoro kaupapa supports tauira Māori in understanding their place in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) world.
The day was filled with lots of fun hands-on learning and the girls are looking forward to the next one.
Outward Bound
We wish Annah Frazerhurst, Maia Van den Berk and Ariana Hiko-Johns all the very best - they set sail on Outward Bound on Thursday 6 June. Outward Bound is an educational organisation that focuses on outdoor experiential learning. The primary goal of Outward Bound is to foster personal development and leadership skills through challenging outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing, canoeing, and sailing.
Participants in Outward Bound courses often engage in activities that take them out of their comfort zones, encouraging them to push past perceived limitations, develop resilience, and build teamwork and communication skills.

Universities Visiting HGHS
This is your chance to hear about what courses they offer and what the entrance requirements are, etc. Even if you're not sure what tertiary study you want to do when you leave school, come and listen - it may give you some ideas you haven't thought about. Even if you don't get your UE, many universities now offer bridging courses to pathway you into a degree.
