Industrial Action for Week 9

PPTA Industrial Action will continue next week. The following year levels will be rostered home:

Monday 19 June - Year 9 & 10
Tuesday 20 June - Year 11 & 12
Wednesday 21 June - Year 9, 10 &13
Thursday 22 June - Year 11

Lincoln University Info & Course Planning Visit

All Year 13 students are invited to meet Tiana Manuatu, Student Liaison Officer from Lincoln University, on Tuesday 13 June at 11:00am at the Student Centre.

Girls with Hi-Vis

On Tuesday 13 June, seven of our Year 12 students had the opportunity to participate in a Girls with Hi-Vis experience day hosted by Higgins in Awatoto. The goal of this day is to attract more women into trade and technical roles in infrastructure industries where skills shortages are critical.

The girls got to try first-hand some of the skills the sector requires from operating a digger, driving a truck, assembling drainage pipes, and running road cone. They also were able to hear from other women already succeeding in industry. It was an awesome day and infrastructure is definitely a great industry for our girls to be considering as a future pathway.

Te Ao Haka Local History Whakawhanautanga Trip

Last week Te Ao Haka went to Ngā Pou o Heretaunga to experience the uniqueness of each pou and learn about the different names of the Takitimu waka. We also completed a challenging trudge through mud at Te Mata o Rongokako.

Performing Arts Festival

Our Performing Arts Festival is coming up fast and although this is a free event, there is limited seating so we will need to issue tickets to the performers' families. These will be allocated early next week, and then the rest of the tickets will be released on Thursday 22 June.
