Numeracy Co-requisite Assessment Next Week
Next week we are inviting our Year 11 Ākonga to complete the new NCEA co-requisite for literacy, numeracy, te reo matatini and pāngarau. This test will be completed at school on Thursday and serves as an extra opportunity to gain numeracy credits for this year, in addition to the existing opportunities available in other courses. Ākonga have been encouraged to give this test a go and they have been guided in their preparations in class.
More information is available here:

International Languages Week
This week we celebrated our first International Languages Week Speech Showcase at Hastings Girls' High School. We had students give speeches in their heritage language around the theme "Beginnings". Speeches were given in Te Reo Māori, i-Taukei, Rarotongan, Samoan, Tuvaluan, Hindi, Punjabi, and Afrikaans.
Students from St Mary's and Heretaunga Intermediate came to cheer our students on and see older multilingual role models in action. We would like to give special thanks to the teachers and community members who helped judge our speeches: Mr Sekove Naicegulevu, Ms Teala Maheu, Mr Sukhdeep Singh, Constable Ramandeep Sandhu, Whaea Evelyn, Mrs Lander, Mrs Mullany, Mrs Paodi, Ms Blossom, Whaea Jen, Mr Pera, and Ms Badenhorst.
